In 2006, we’re facing an historic battle for civil rights and equality.

As you may have heard, religious extremists and right-wing radicals are planning as many as two ballot initiatives next year. If passed, these initiatives would roll back hard-won domestic partnership rights and halt all progress on marriage equality for same-sex couples.

We can defeat these initiatives. But it will require Family Pride’s help. And it will require your help.

Family Pride is a member of Equality for All, a broad coalition of LGBT and civil rights organizations throughout California and across the country that are working together to defeat these initiatives in 2006.

The Equality for All campaign is a broad coalition of concerned communities --  encompassing straight and LGBT, people of faith, people of color, political organizations, business, labor and more.

Defeating these initiatives is critical. If they pass, hundreds of thousands of Californians and families could lose the rights we’ve fought for over the last 20 years -- from state domestic partner protections to benefits like health insurance for our partners and our children.

We’re asking all of our members to join us in playing an active role to defeat these initiatives.

Our resolution for 2006 is simple: Victory. Once and for all.
