GREETINGS FROM THE FAMILY PRIDE COALITION!
SAVE THE DATE FAMILY PRIDE’S NATIONAL DINNER IS SET FOR SAT., OCT. 8
The Family Pride Coalition will host its national awards dinner at a private home in Los Angeles on Sat., Oct. 8. Last year, Family Pride honored Rosie and Kelli O’Donnell and Wells Fargo.
This year, we’re proud to announce we will honor actor, author and activist B.D. Wong. A famed Broadway, film and television star, Wong has appeared in M. Butterfly, Father of the Bride (parts I and II), Jurassic Park, Mulan , “Law & Order: SVU” and ”Oz.”
Wong is also the author of the heart-wrenching and heart-warming tale of becoming a father in the moving book, “Following Foo: The Electronic Adventures of the Chestnut Man.” Wong’s book is based on a series of creative and compelling e-mail messages that he sent to his family and friends when the birth mother of his children carrying twins went into extremely premature labor at 28 weeks. He has also appeared in a Family Pride Coalition public service announcement demanding equality for LGBT-headed families.
Tickets for this exciting event will be available soon. For more information, call (202) 331-5015.
ACT NOW -- MASS EQUALITY SEEKS STORIES FROM MARRIED COUPLES AND THEIR FAMILIES
MassEquality is compiling a book of personal stories from same-sex couples, their parents, children, clergy and friends that will be delivered to legislators on Aug. 24, the date of the next constitutional convention. Married same-sex couples have unique stories to share and legislators need to hear what a difference marriage has made in their lives so they can understand why marriage equality must be protected.
This collection of stories will help legislators appreciate and recognize the struggles and challenges that committed gay and lesbian couples have faced in the past, the importance of marriage equality in so many different ways, and the myriad of reasons why people from all walks of life support equal marriage rights.
Please act now by writing a short personal testimonial explaining why you support marriage equality or what the first year of marriage equality has meant for you. Submit your story by Aug. 19, along with up to three high-resolution digital photos through the MassEquality website at www.MassEquality.org/May17/share/ or e-mailing JonMarker@MassEquality.org.

The group’s first meeting will take place on Sat., Sept. 10 from 11:30am-12:30pm at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center’s Village at Ed Gould Plaza, 1125 McCadden Place. For more information, e-mail coparenting_between_the_sexes@yahoo.com.
