Background:
Family Pride is the only national non-profit exclusively dedicated to securing equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender parents and their children. Founded in 1979, Family Pride works to eliminate prejudice, violence and injustice against LGBTQ families at the local, state and national levels. Through advocacy, education and support we help LGBTQ families tell their stories and work to educate the American public about the realities of LGBTQ family life.
Roles & Responsibilities:
This Intern will be vital in helping us update our publications, plan for conferences and expand our online presence. Other duties will include shipping and administrative tasks as needed. This intern will be part of the Program and Education Team.
This individual will work in close partnership with the Program & Education Associates to ensure the successful execution of a multi-pronged programmatic agenda. There are also opportunities to work on other aspects of Family Pride’s advocacy and education programming, including Family Pride’s national speakers bureau - OUTSpoken Families, LGBTQ Family Conferences and gatherings, public education campaigns and various events and conferences throughout the year.
