Family Pride at work:
A message from Trina Olson: Not a “goodbye”…just a “see you in California”
How to sum up my two years with Family Pride…life changing. It is with such a mix of emotions that I write to let you know that I am moving on from this incredibly talented, intelligent, motivated, innovative and inspiring staff. It is hard to go, but I am absolutely positive that I am leaving the members of Family Pride in the hands of the most conscientious, strategic and robust staff this organization has ever seen. I am so proud to have worked with each and every one of them. Read on...
A farewell message from Ken Mosesian
What began as a three-month project in January 2003 became a four-year labor of love. As I say goodbye to Family Pride as their Development Director, I wanted to thank everyone who has contributed to the mission of equality for all loving families through your service and financial gifts. To work with individuals dedicated to such an audacious mission - true family equality - was a tremendous experience. As a result of your commitment, Family Pride nearly tripled its budget in four years and is finally being recognized for the good work that it has done since its inception almost 30 years ago. I've said it before and will say it again - we simply could not have done it without each and every one of you. So to all past and present staff, board, volunteers and donors - thank you. Read on...
Family Pride's new director of development: A. Charlene Leach
We are thrilled Charlene is joining our team at Family Pride. Charlene brings a deep, longtime commitment to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and incomparable skill in articulating why supporting Family Pride's efforts through funding is so important. With her skills and expertise, Charlene will enable us to deepen our relationship with current donors and also reach new supporters. She is ideally suited to help our funders understand that they are making an investment in all of our families and supporting Family Pride’s ability to make a difference in the community. Read on...

The Kevin Bacon Challenge continues... and we're number three!
Inspired by 6 Degrees of Separation, Kevin Bacon launched sixdegrees.org to benefit charities. He’s agreed to match up to $10,000 for the six non-profits with the highest number of unique donors. Family Pride Board Co-Chair Ken Manford created a “badge” for Family Pride. Since it's the number of donation that count (not the actual amount), we've been asking everyone to give just $10. Donate $10 now!
Our goal is 1,138 donations. Why 1,138? Because that’s the number of federal laws and provisions that guarantee rights and privileges for married couples. Because that’s the number of federal laws and provisions that exclude our families. It's time to take a stand!
For a week, Family Pride enjoyed the first place position in the Kevin Bacon Challenge. However, we were recently overtaken and we have dropped to third place. Send us back to the top! Click here to see the top ten. Currently, we're at 300 donations.
Family Pride cruises with R Family Vacations
On February 18th, our Executive Director Jennifer Chrisler set sail with over 1,500 LGBT parents, their children, family members and friends on R Family Vacations first mid-winter cruise. It was an amazing experience and all the families were overjoyed with a week in the Caribbean. Family Pride was excited to provide over 15 hours of educational workshops, gatherings and seminars as part of our new partnership with R Family Vacations. In February, we announced this partnership which includes R Family Vacations doing the entertainment at Family Week and Family Pride providing workshops and programming for all R Family Vacation events. Just next weekend, Jennifer will travel to
Philadelphia
to give the keynote speech at a luncheon for R Family’s Philly Weekend and we hope to see many of our members there.
